On Friday night Perth’s fashion community gathered at Crown’s Grand Ballroom to celebrate STYLEAID 2015. In its 17th year the premier fashion fundraiser has raised over $1.1 million for the WA AIDS Council while also supporting local emerging creatives.
Thanks to Muse Bureau I was able to see STYLEAID from a much more personal angle, by being able to go backstage. What I love most about backstage – other than the building anticipation for the show to start – is being able to look more closely at the clothes and see the craftsmanship that goes into creating those intricate details that are often lost once the models hit the runway. Some of my favourite looks included the combination of chunky handmade knits by I love Mr Mittens with Aimee Cherie‘s delicate and dreamy lingerie. The dress pictured above made from Tyvek paper picturing Jane Birkin, illustrated by Pippa Mcmanus using acrylic paint, charcoal, paint pens and fake daisies. The simplistic, edgy yet unassuming designs by Salasai and One Fell Swoop‘s minimalist silhouettes with incredible drapery. I hope you enjoyed this little sneak peek backstage Xx Nadine
