Staycation at Sage Hotel West Perth

If travel is not an option, the next best thing is a staycation! After several weeks of intense work, I had the pleasure of escaping for a mini holiday with a staycation at Sage Hotel West Perth. Located right in the heart of West Perth, walking - or riding, distance to Kings Park and the CBD, the newly built hotel is the perfect retreat for a getaway and will feel like your home away from home! The hotel boasts all the amenities you could hope for; free wi-fi on unlimited devices - major yes, a 24-hour gym, complimentary bicycles - another major yes, 24/7 room service, free parking for one car and the divine Julio's Italian! I've documented all my favourite moments and recommendations from my staycation below and in a short video at the end of the post.

Julio's Italian Restaurant

Sage's beautifully restored heritage building is home to Julio's Italian Restaurant. Inspired by authentic wholesome flavours of Executive Chef Simone Ariano's hometown, the restaurant fuses modern with traditional to create delectable home-style food with a focus on locally sourced produce. The rustic yet refined interior mirrors the beautiful food, my recommendations are the mushrooms, spinach,‏ feta, truffle & parmesan Arancini Balls and Old Cuban cocktails.

Complimentary Bicycles

The best way to discover a new city or your own is by bike riding. Sage offers all their guests complimentary bicycles and with Kings Park at its fingertips, it's the perfect excuse to get some fresh air and stroll through the botanic gardens and later pack a picnic for an evening at the Moonlight Cinema at Kings Park. Please note the Moonlight Cinema is a Summer program and runs between December 1st and April 2nd.

Lazy mornings

The best thing about staycations and holidays are sleep-ins and lazy mornings! Whether you're recovering from jetlag or are simply repaying your sleep debt, the thing I love most about holidays is not having to wake up to an alarm clock. For those that want to stay in bed a little longer - and trust me you definitely will, the custom-made beds are incredibly comfortable and feel like you are sleeping on clouds. Why not order breakfast in bed with the hotel's 24/7 room service or if you're wanting a big breakfast try the continental buffet breakfast, there is everything you could possibly want and more, plus their pastries are incredible!

A special thank you to Sage Hotel West Perth for the wonderful staycation, I'm very much looking forward to another visit when Lei Lei is back in town for a girls getaway!

Xx Nadine
