On Friday night I had the privilege to listen to and meet Akira Isogawa at Claremont Quarter for their Meet the Designer experience. I was in complete awe by how humble, kind, talented and witty he was, which made the anticipation for his show on Saturday night even more exhilarating!…

Phuong My at Telstra Perth Fashion Festival

Delightfully dreamy, these are the two words that I think best describe what I saw at the Phuong My runway show on Friday night. It was probably the most wearable and retable collection I have seen at this year’s Telstra Perth Fashion Festival. And although it left some people feeling underwhelmed after theatrical shows like Empire Rose and Jaime Lee, I absolutely loved the collection for its subtle, feminine and elegant demeanour and for the incredible live jazz. As the rose petal adorned…

Telstra Perth Fashion Festival SIGnature

September 19, 2015

I love student runway shows for the abundance of creativity they generate, as they don’t have to think of the commercial constraints that come with their designs. This creative freedom is always exciting to watch so I was thrilled to document Polytechnic West’s first solo show for Telstra Perth Fashion Festival, SIGNature. SIGNature “was a chance to show that you can transform waste into something beautiful” old cloths and vinyl banners from local organisations and councils like the City of Perth, Tourism…

Feast your eyes as you’re transported into a magical land filled with rainbows, unicorns, sequins, fairy dust and all things Harajuku. Last night Jaime Lee showcased her first ready to wear collection ‘Lightyears’ inspired by theme parks and the famous Robot Restaurant that she visited on a recent trip to Tokyo. Lee wanted to bring neon nightlife back to the runway and so she did! The runway was guarded by two glistening unicorns – specifically commissioned for the show, while…

Every year I think Empire Rose have out done themselves and every year I’m wrong! In 2013 they had a dog on the runway, last year they had wild birds including owls and falcons (see here) and this year they spun the classic format of a runway show with an ode to twins, while also whisking us away to Paris! As models strutted down the runway in twos, like mirror images – also bearing designer Kathryn Cizeika’s iconic up do, the killer French…

If you follow me on Instagram you may have noticed some beautiful scenery shots with the #TheDale, a lot of people asked about these locations and now I can finally reveal them. Last weekend a group of photographers and bloggers were invited by Jarrad Seng and the City of Armadale to discover #TheDale from a different perspective. Living North of the River I had never really ventured into the City of Armadale – except to visit Araluen Botanical Park. I loved the…

Last night we stepped to in Spring thanks to Karrinyup Shopping Centre as they took us through the key trends for Spring Summer with special guest Blogger, Photographer and Stylist Amanda Shadforth from Oracle Fox while talented Perth Artist Sara Winfield did a live painting for guests. Having followed Shaforth’s blog for several years and being an avid fan of Fashion Bloggers her personality already shined through as being very down to earth and friendly, but nothing could prepare me…
